Born in 2015 from the deep artistic connection between pianist and composer Manuela Iori and singer-songwriter Maria Teresa Leonetti, Fil Rouge Quintet draws inspiration from poetry and storytelling—Italian creativity, French charm, a touch of jazz, and a hint of Africa and the Mediterranean.

​

Difficult to define within a single genre, their repertoire goes beyond music, weaving a hidden and sacred bond between these two kindred spirits and their fellow musicians.

The duo is brilliantly supported by exceptional artists:
🎺 Charles Ferris (Fanfara Station) – trumpet, flugelhorn, and effects
🥁 Ettore Bonafè – drums and percussion
🎻 Michele Staino – double bass

The band also welcomes special guests, such as Senegalese singer Badara Seck, further enriching their musical universe.

​

With lyrics primarily in French—the singer’s language of the soul—Fil Rouge has released two albums: L’Inconnue (2016) and L’Île Noire (AlfaMusic, 2024).

 

In 2025/26, Fil Rouge Quintet is actively seeking new performance opportunities and collaborations across Europe and beyond.

Né en 2015 de la profonde connexion artistique entre la pianiste et compositrice Manuela Iori et l’auteure-interprète Maria Teresa Leonetti, Fil Rouge Quintet puise son inspiration dans la poésie et le récit - créativité italienne, charme francais, un zeste de jazz, et un parfum d'Afrique.  

Difficile à enfermer dans un seul genre, le répertoire dépasse la simple musique pour tisser un lien secret et sacré entre les deux ames soeurs et leurs acolytes.
