Gabacho Maroc is one of the most exciting bands of world fusion of the moment. In only 5 years, the band has played more than 200 festivals on 4 continents and continues to be on high demand.

Set up by drummer Vincent Thomas in San Sebastian in 2013, this 7-piece band with musicians from Morocco, Algeria and France has developed its own flair, using Afrojazz as the stock in a stew that's spiked with ingredients from Moroccan, Gnawa, Arabic and Western music. Making rhythms complex, soaring high and tiding everything together like the late Joe Zawinul welded Weather Report’s sound, they are building tunes in fast-moving layers under vocals in French and Arabic.

Gabacho Maroc’s first album, BISSARA (Label Oued, 2014) earned the band a nomination for the All African Music Awards in 2015. The single “Moussaoui” rapidly attained 40,000 views on YouTube, and was selected by the UK label “World Music Network” for its Rough Guide CD compilation, The Best Arabic Music You’ve Never Heard.

Their second album TAWASSOL ('connections' in Arabic) was released in January 2018 under the French label 10H10 (Cristal Records, Sony distribution). It was well received and reached N.1 in the Transglobal World Music Chart in March, and was eventually classified as Top 2018 Album.

In 2019, the band started to work  on new recording material (2020 album). In November, the Tawassol Tour will bring them to Northern Europe for several dates, including some great festivals like Oslo World and Etnosoi .
