SHORT BIO
Northern Resonance are a new Swedish string trio composed of Anna Ekborg on violin and viola d’amore, Petrus Dillner, on nyckelharpa, and Jerker Hans-Ers on Hardanger fiddle and octave violin.
All members are sharp and highly skilled players with deep roots in traditional and classical music.
For folk music fans, successful contemporary Nordic folk bands do not need an introduction. From the legendary trio Väsen, to Nordic, and many other small ensembles, the list could go on.
In that niche, Northern Resonance find themselves at their ease. They are part of the new generation of inspired musicians paying homage to the music and dance traditions of the North, featuring great verve and fine musicianship.
Coaxing fantastic sounds and feelings out of their chosen instruments, the members of the trio take you on a unique journey to the North. The emphasis is on tone rather than on rhythm. All Scandinavia resonates in the music.
With their debut album and a series of concerts in Sweden, the trio has already placed a glorious sound, and was candidate for the Swedish Grammy Awards. To expand their reach, they were also part of the 2021 Global Music Match program, under the guidance of Christine White, talent buyer & programming manager at the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival (USA). In that framework, they have initiated lovely collaborative projects, co-producing a very interesting recording material.
About their live performance, the band's showcase at Womex 2021 has received a warm welcome from the professional community and the media.
Book them for your venue or festival! They are full of promise!

“With several beautiful crafted and decorated instruments on stage, Norther Resonance is a visual treat as well as a feast for the ears. A reinlender, a lullaby, polkas, , marches and gangars are mixed with some more descriptive pieces, all carefully arranged to take advantage of those resonances." Alex Monaghan, FolkWorld
